What is tallow?

Tallow is fat rendered from beef. Our tallow is rendered from leaf fat, a unique and prized fat found naturally around the vital organs, such as the kidneys, of healthy, grass-fed cattle. Because of its location, it is naturally protected within the body and has fewer impurities compared to external or subcutaneous fat. When rendered, it produces a clean, creamy tallow that’s especially rich in skin-loving vitamins like A, D, E, and K.

Does tallow smell?

The natural aroma of tallow is mild and earthy, and once applied to the skin, it fades quickly, leaving behind nothing but soft, nourished skin.

Our Nourishing Cream has the mildest aroma, while those looking for a more noticeable scent can choose from our Lemon Myrtle & Sweet Orange blend or Rose Geranium.

Does tallow block pores?

Despite being a rich, nourishing fat, tallow is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores. This is because its natural composition closely mirrors the structure of human sebum—the skin’s own protective oil. Due to tallows rich, nutrient-dense profile, we recommend applying the cream and allowing 5–10 minutes for optimal absorption. To further maintain healthy, clear skin, we suggest cleansing your face before & after use, to remove dirt, sweat, and impurities.
